>>14790060It can. Just expect a high PC mortality rate. Even with fate points (small, recharging pool of points that can be used for rerolls and other small effects or permanently reduced to stave off death/other circumstances that'd make the character unplayable) they'll get chewed up soon enough.
Thing is that the PCs will always be humans. Even with fancy gear and psychic powers they're still small fried compared to a huge number of horrible things that exist in and beyond reality. Not that you need the alien and the daemonic to kill them: if some unlucky git is hit with a melta gun (short ranged heat ray) then he's going to be toast. That said, a group of smart acolytes with good intel and gear can survive for quite some time.
As for scenarios, you simply construct games where the PCs Inquisitor uses them as a Kill-Team. They're a band of disposable professional killers who the boss sends in to blow apart whatever trouble his more subtle agents have found. Think of them like a spec-ops team that has to deal with alien horrors and daemons every now and then.
