Non stop compliments don't mean anything. They can also be creepy. The thing about flirting is that ideally you make the girl laugh. Women are fantastically unfunny, so when a man can make them really and truly laugh, you have a much better shot. Laughing is a surrender. People put up walls, they wear masks, they pretend to be a certain way or think a certain thing, but when you really laugh, you can't help it. It's just so damn honest.
A joke or something clever is always better than "You look good today." There is a time and a place for direct action, but it isn't the beginning, which is where you are.
