Some women actually LIKE wearing makeup. I know some girls who see makeup as just an extension of their clothes, it's something they can do to express themselves, and play around with different color combinations and stuff.
Not everything people do is to attract the opposite sex.

I personally don't wear makeup, but it's because I'm lazy and too cheap. Not because I want my "inner beauty" to show or some other bullshit.

Yes it does. Make-up isn't always a way to hide your defects. It's a way of accentuating natural beauty that's already there. Say you have nice lips. A good shade of lipstick will bring that out and make them stand out. In the same way that people pick clothing that flatters their body, or choose a hairstyle that fits their face-shape, people wear make-up to draw attention to their most attractive features and draw attention away from the unattractive ones.

My "natural" face has scars, dark bags under my eyes, bushy eyebrows, an eyelid that doesn't fold correctly, and psoriasis.
It's not that I'm trying to look like a totally different person, I just want to look more alert, more healthy, and more happy version of myself.

I don't want my appearance to give a bad first impression and hurt me in the long run. Same damn reason I brush and style my hair rather than walking around with a messy, half-assed afro.

Yeah, clothing is functional, but that's not all it's about. When people choose their clothing, they're going to choose something that flatters their shape and doesn't make them look like a slob.

Wanting to bring out the best in your appearance is not a bad thing. Yes, some women take make-up too far. But if all it does is accentuate already attractive features and hide a couple pimples, then what's the problem?

Honestly I just don't like makeup but further more I find the whole thing a little insulting (I'm a guy by the way)
When I'm dating a girl apparently I can look however I do naturally and as long as I practice basic everyday hygiene and that's fine she thinks that looks good.
But if I ask her to do the same and that she doesn't wear makeup that's suddenly a impossibility.
Why is it I can't see what you actually look like but I have to show you what I look like?

Another thing makeup by it's very concept is detrimental to it's purpose.
the purpose of makeup is to make a person look better by covering up their various imperfections
however those imperfections are what give a person's face character and are at the very center of being attractive when you remove those imperfections you rob your face of it's identity and become some weird porcelain doll thing that should go back to the uncanny valley.

Uh, no. Splotches, acne, oil, and undereye circles don't add character. Actual characterizing features like a nose or eye shape are only destroyed by very heavy industrial-strength makeup, which most people don't use.

However it annoys me when I'm apparently not even worthy to see a person I'm in love with's face when it's but acceptable to see me when I'm not made up like a fucking show pony...that and the people who act like it's impossible for others to not only tolerate but perfer the way a woman looks when her skin isn't a solid color with the distinct hue of polished marble.

If you took your average looking girl without make-up, most guys would consider her to be an ugly bitch because of the sorts of unsightly things like pimples, oil, dry skin, blemishes, scars, dark eye-circles, stuff that everyone gets from time to time. Those sorts of things are all it takes to transform an average looking girl into a frumpy uggo. Minimizing those things isn't 'hiding her natural beauty', it's bringing it out.

You guys act as if make-up is some kind of magical face transforming device that can turn the ugliest of women into supermodels. Sorry, nice as that would be, no amount of make-up will turn a genuinely ugly girl into a pretty one. If you see a pretty girl, even if she's wearing make-up, she's probably actually pretty. Make-up can only accentuate what's already there.

How aren't they the same? The both fall under the same logic that people are using for not wearing makeup. People are saying that the women should not need to alter the way the appear just because they think they may look better.

How is this any different with shaving, and with tweezing. Women do this explicitly for these reasons. As a person said earlier, he would not want to be with a woman that felt like a man. If a woman normally looked like a 5, but with makeup could look like a 7, why wouldn't she want to do this? I guarantee you, the majority, of woman that claim they don't ever wear makeup, still tweez their eyebrows, and make sure they don't have any hair on their upper lip.

You still don't get how natural makeup works do you? It means that you can improve your looks, and still manage to convince people that is how you actually look. Considering the amount of people here that are acting all into that, it would be a fairly good strategy.

a few reasons why that's wrong
1: even subtle makeup can be noticeable by what you don't see blemishes,scars,acne these are things everyone has in a least some amount even more obvious is lipstick,mascara,eyeliner.
2: It has a smell maybe not a strong one but if get close you will notice the unmistakable smell of cosmetics.

First off, let me thank you for being polite and giving me credit for what I actually said instead of just focusing on my "contradiction." Secondly, I use "contradiction" in quotes because while it may appear that I've contradicted myself, I haven't. I find both intelligent women AND women who wear make up (obviously, there are exceptions) to be extremely attractive and just downright sexy as fuck. Damn straight. I only wear it during the winter months when I need the extra color. Even then I wear very minimal shadow near the eyelash line. If I cake it on it ends up melting right off or looking like a greasy mess anyway. Eyeliner also refuses to stay on around my waterline as well but I think that has something to do with me wearing contacts.

So I don't really have anything against makeup. What's more, I think some of the colors (the more unnatural ones) are really interesting and I might wear them now and then if I thought I could pull it off (but in most cases, it does make people look like clowns).

It's just a way to accentuate best features, or covering some imperfections, or just something that makes a girl feel good. I personally love how I look with eyeliner 'cat' style. Daily, I jut use some cover stick to even out my skin tone (no red blotches, no blueness under eyes, covering an acne spot or something), plus mascara, because I have short eyelashes.

Several times wearing make-up like that I heard from my male friends that "oh, you're not wearing make-up, I like that". Just shows how they don't realize that we're wearing it. We have it on so subtle, just to accentuate shit, just how we'll wear hair accessories or a necklace or something. It's an accessory.

Of course, there are some women who cake on that shit because they think they look hideous/plain without it, but they are EXTREMES. No need to hate that stuff overall because of chicks who don't know how to use it. Most of those girls, if you saw them without their caked on make-up, you'd be surprised how beautiful they... don't look.

I wear extravagant eye makeup because I like big, pretty colors. It pleases me to blend different shades together and create a dramatic look.

On days when I don't feel up to doing full eyes, I just do copper liner and sometimes mascara to enhance my eyes. It just looks nicer.

I gradually "discovered" makeup first in my early teens with just basic, subtle stuff, and then the eyeshadow bit in my early twenties.

I have been told many times that I look better without makeup. Every single time someone says that too me it's on a day where I was in a hurry and just rushed my makeup on without taking the time to clean it up, however I wear makeup every day.

In other words, not a single one of those guys has ever seen me without makeup, they just think they have because they don't notice it. I wear base, powder, eyeliner, eye shadow, and occasionally mascara and blush.

She could have done one of two things. They have eyelid glue, with which they can give themselves double lids. And they also have huge lenses that can force their eyes open wider. Kind of hilarious. Also, this picture fooled you for a few seconds specifically because she is wearing makeup.

Don't try to make the line all in one stroke. Use little strokes, right along the edge as close to the lashes as possible, a little at a time. If you get a lot on there, don't worry so much; grab a smudge brush if you have one, or a Q-tip if you don't, and smudge it, stroking along the lashline.

Doing your waterline (bottom eyelid) might take some getting used to, but it's easier to do all in one stroke.

Sure, it's great to be natural. It's great to appreciate that. We appreciate you appreciating that.

HOWEVER, don't say that you don't acknowledge when a girl has a 'stache, acne (whether extreme or not), general discolouration, etc.. Also, though this has been said many times already, it's VERY, VERY LIKELY, that most of the girls you see as "generally pretty/beautiful" when "natural" aren't completely "natural", so fuck off until you know your stuff.
