Wild Intuition...if O.P. gets dubs, no more dubs are permitted. re-roll occurs before publishing the roll.
O.P. could post threads with 2 postings (of any content). O.P. deletes unsuccessful threads without dubs in initial posts. Once a posting with dubs (first or second position, whichever is the trigger) occurs, O.P. updates the postings with his Challenge, which seems to come out of nowhere.
Or, O.P. is God, in that O.P. controls configuration of the board and the posting index eumeration algorithm for a thread of choice.
There is no other explanation.
A quirk of the roll number assignment - pre programmed or a configuration option (triggering the same quirk).
O.P. us a supreme Lurker (LurkMoar!) or O.P. is God.
