I'm the result of rape, my biological dad sure as hell wasn't in my life and the mom my mom married later was emotionally abuse. Hellll yeahhhh I have a lot of issues about these things.
But I go to therapy regularly, I try to remind myself when I'm being crazy, I surround myself with people that do treat me well and I think I've overcome things and become a decent human being. I've just about put myself through university with no parental help by working two jobs, get good grades, and I have a boyfriend that loves me who is a hell of a guy.
It's easy to say "all daughters of single moms--you guys are far too fucked up to ever date" but my mom taught me how to work hard and not let the bastards get me down (too much. I am getting trolled here, I realize). F you, haters. I do alright.
