Dave Merrill is in fact NO LONGER THE CHAIRMAN OF ANIME WEEKEND ATLANTA. He no longer really runs it; he retired last year or the year before or some shit.

THE PRESENT HEAD OF AWA IS A BLACK GUY WHO USUALLY WEARS GLASSES. HIS NAME IS LLOYD.

The target demograph of AWA has changed over the years. I'm actually embarassed to go, since, not only am I now older, the majority of con attendees are pre-teen girls raving over the Yaoi room.

Dragon con is a wider range of geeks, but the target group is older and an overtone of sex permeates the entire convention (especially at night). Also, as a gay man, I must admit there was much more to see at DC than AWA. Yaoi is cartoons of dudes fucking dudes that look like women. At DragonCon, you get to see the Spartans and the bodybuilder dresses as Riddick. Who says all nerds are out of shape. ;)
