Mix Metamucil and cornstarch with hot water at a ratio of three tablespoons Metamucil and five tablespoons cornstarch per cup. Begin microwave-heating your mixture while preparing suitable molds (silicon-rubber icetrays are excellent, as are plastic closing models). Pre-chill the moulds in a freezer beforehand.
Allow the mixture to heat to near-boiling, and then stir for 1 minute. Repeat this cycle ten times plus one per cup (to compensate for lower evaporation surface area).
Stir the mixture constantly until it has cooled and thickened to a texture thicker than yogourt but thinner than jam. Remove the chilled molds from the freezer and cast the heated mixture. Allow it to cool in a fridge for at least two hours.
As long as they're sanitary, the fibre jelly shouldn't react with anything. They contain starch though, so they won't last long.
