>>4097463She wrings her hands nervously. He deserves to know. Hasn't he been honest, as honest and open as she wishes she could be? He's a good man, and it breaks all three of her hearts to deceive him.
"Darling...I need to tell you...I'm not the woman you think I am," she says quietly. "I'm sorry. I've lied about so much, kept my true self from you...I'm...I'm a monster."
Strangely, he smiles and embraces her. "You're not a monster."
"But I really-"
He touches a finger to her (illusion's) lips to silence her. "Since we're being honest here, I hope you can forgive a lie of mine." She nods; nothing he's done could be as awful as what she's done.
He looks her straight in the eye (empty socket) and says, "I could see your real form from the very beginning."
The shock is great, but the relief is greater.
"You...always knew?"
"Yes."
"And you s-still wanted me?" Dark, viscous fluids, the closest she has to tears, gather in the hollows of her sockets.
"I did, and I still do." He strokes the bony curves of her skull. "You have always been beautiful to me."
The sheen of her glamour charm falls away - the faint image of the human form she disguised herself with dissipating, leaving her exposed, in all her unearthly glory, in his arms.
He kisses the space between her nostrils, just above her bared fangs. She sobs faintly with happiness...and something slithers against his lower abdomen.
"Let's go to bed, darling..." she purrs, "I want to show you all the things my real body can do."
