Oh and also, when I soldered the things in, I put the resistors wire and whatever into the whole then soldered it on from the underside of the PCB, is that fine?

Radial refers to the placements of the leads.

Radial=both leads on one side
Axial=like an axle

what's the plausibility that I did fuck the PCB.. I didn't really touch it with my solder but who knows.

Another pcb?
I don't think I've fucked this one up or anything.. particularly if they're not overly fragile, I just think I fucked up capacitors and things by putting them all in the wrong way then trying to power it.

As long as the solder is touching the right part of the board and then the right resistor or whatever, it should all be fine right?
Thanks for your help though I learnt a lot, just ordered all the equipment and I'm going to scrap the board and try doing it again, but slower.

My first build was a fuzz face clone with modded values and different si transistors (i picked bc108 but with a lower hfe than the standard bc108)

I built it on a radioshack pre screen board... I had to do it twice. Was just easier to build it with a new board than an old one.

The fuzz came out pretty cool. On lower settings it sounded like an overdrive. An amp slightly overdriven and when you passed the half way mark of the fuzz knob it was a complete fuzz.

Throwing this question in here since we obviously all have a common interest and some overlapping knowledge.

I'm currently using a One-Spot daisy chain PSU and I want to replace it with a dedicated PSU as I'm getting horrific ground hum from my rig. I'm confident it's a ground problem as (long story short) using a ground lift from a DI unit removes the racket when we did a live session recently.

My problem is that I need at least 9V DC and one 12V DC output. I'm at a loss as to which brands to choose. My thought was I wanted multiple isolated, regulated outputs, but I've had plenty of contradictory advice about daisy chains being fine if they all come off the same supply and so on.

I've looked at the T-Rex Fuel Tank Classic but learned that all the 9V supplies are isolated but not individually, with a separately isolated 12V DC and 12V AC section. I've also looked at CIOKS stuff which is hugely overpriced in my country ($430 anyone?) which even then is not completely isolated for each output.

Total current draw from the 9V section is 388mA. Hungriest pedal is 140mA (EHX Freeze) and the rest are between 15-85mA. The Nova Delay needs 12V, at least 300mA.

Any suggestions? Pic related - it's my board, although the Marshall Reverb is gone and not part of the revised design.

This IS top of the line. Isolated, regulated, and many power options. I HIGHLY recommend buying one.

Hammond's boxes seem to be popular ITT.
You can make your own from wood/plywood quite easily, too. Metalworking tends to be somewhat more difficult.

Oh, and you can buy pedals as kits. Some come with pre-drilled enclosures.
