>>14095219I try to treat everyone with respect until they prove themselves unworthy of it, but a side effect of /fit/ has been that I tend to assume that a fat person is more likely to be unintelligent or at least less respectful of other people...
Thing is, a lot of the time it's been correct. The vast majority of proper fat people I've met have been utterly shit people. Rude, disgusting, lazy, unintelligent people. I know some great fat guys, most of whom are big fat party animals, and I respect them for who they are. They are an exception though.
(Though, every fat girl I've met has been a walking FPS stereotype. My mate's 250lb+ sister crashed her car because she was texting and eating from a tub of ice cream while driving. When they asked her why, she said she couldn't wait to eat it. It's a 4 minute drive from the shops to their house.)
So yeah, as someone who was fat thanks to ignorance and a love for doritos and lost over 100lb in less than a year thanks to knowledge from /fit/ and sheer willpower, I do consider myself to be "above" those who are too lazy or stupid to change themselves, or at least do some research into how fucking easy it is to change themselves.
Fat people who are willing to change definitely deserve bonus respect though.
