>>14258545> Is it common to need to work on arm & shoulder flexibility when learning the front squatYes, very. You don't have to 'hold' the bar in your hand fully when front squatting, it's enough to just have two or three fingers under the bar, just as long as the bar is sitting on top of your shoulders. (You can even do Frankenstein Squats, which has you front squatting without even holding the bar). Just keep stretching your wrists and arms.
>>14258508This isn't bad, but it's wrong to call the clean a 'jump and catch', and I'm not sure why Pendlay does so, possibly to make it easier for beginners to grasp, but as far as I can tell it just confuses people because they see that and it doesn't follow the same process as a 'proper' clean.
Look at this picture
>>14258610the movement of the bar comes from the hips driving forwards and upwards under the bar. If you look carefully, you'll see the bar actually moves very little at all, just high enough that he can pull himself under it. This is exaggerated somewhat with the Chinese style pull, but the principle is still the same with all the lifts. You're not throwing the bar above you, you're throwing it high enough that you can get underneath the bar and then stand up with it.
>>14258610Will check it out, somehow.
