UPSET: US Army sergeant and Miss America 2014 contestant Theresa Vail lashed out at a female army colonel who said ugly women should be used in military recruitment advertisements.

Once again, using the pictures of beautiful women in advertising has sparked controversy. But this time there is a twist.

   US Army sergeant-turned-beauty queen Miss Kansas has lashed out at a female army colonel who said photos of "average-looking" and "ugly" women should be used in public relations campaigns to get more females in combat roles.

   "In general, ugly women are perceived as competent while pretty women are perceived as having used their looks to get ahead," wrote Colonel Lynette Arnhart in the e-mail, Britain's Daily Mail reported.

   Col Arnhart, who was leading a team of analysts studying how to integrate women into fighting roles in the army and in leaked e-mails, referred to an article about an attractive Corporal Kristine Tejada as an example of how pretty girls deployed on duty undermines the army's attempts to convince the public of the integration.

   But Ms Theresa Vail, the 22-year-old Miss Kansas and Miss America contestant, hit out in Twitter.

   She said: "Unfortunately that is the sick reality and one of the many stereotypes I'm trying to break."

Miss Vail, who has a tattoo of the Army Dental Corps insignia on her shoulder, as well as the Serenity Prayer inked round her torso, said: "However, it is going to take an army of women to break that perception, not just myself."

   Miss Vail has just signed up for another six years and has talked about how she was inspired by her soldier father, who has been in the army for 33 years.

I've come to the conclusion that imageboards suck absolute dick and textboards are VIP QUALITY. Yet those imageboards are so addictive that I cannot stop but continue using them. If you feel the same, raise your hand please
