I was that nogunz canadafag that made that thread last night about some guy behind my house with a headlamp. Until I can afford the sks I'm saving up for, I might buy a cheap paintball pistol for hd. There were a lot of mixed feelings on this last night, just wanna know some more opinions.

Something I forgot to mention last night; for the next few months, I'm living in a house with my gf, her pregnant older half-sister and fiance, and two small children. Saying I could afford said SKS, ammo and a gun safe, would it really be feasible to use a gun for hd over a paintball pistol?

Apparently not, it's more of a matter of escalation of force. So if some guy comes into my house with a little pocket knife, it would pretty much be unjustified to put ten rounds in his chest. The legality of confronting a threat with a paintball gun is kinda iffy though. My reasoning is that it's non lethal and not really dangerous, it looks enough like a real gun in the dark that I could shout at the person to get on the ground or I'll shoot, and if they draw a gun or knife, I can shoot them in the face and/or chest buying me time to make an attempt at disarming and restraining them. This has also got me wondering about getting one of those CO2-powered metal bb pistols from walmart that looks like a beretta. I hear they pack a bit of a punch, and they look even more like a real gun. Plus they come with a laser pointer thing that I can shine in their eyes to intimidate them maybe, also it's cheaper than a paintball pistol and it looks like it would be fun to fuck around with in the backyard...

No, that's a retarded myth. In Canada there's a duty to retreat, but I don't know of anyone who's been convicted for now following it. There have been a few cases of armed self-defense and the victim always gets off. The only time it was iffy was that guy who started firing "warning shots" at people firebombing his house. That would get you convicted in the US are warning shots are universally illegal, but he was cleared.

Then there was that Greek dude (Basil Parasiris) who killed a cop and wounded another when they raided his house. The court ruled that since he legitimately feared for his life deadly force was authorized.

Then deadly force is justified. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise, and if they do ask for a source. Canada is very defense-friendly so long as you actually have a reason to shoot.

Depends on the state. I can assure you that no jury in Texas or Arizona would convict a man for firing warning shots at men throwing Molotov cocktails at his house.

A deadly weapon is a deadly weapon. Guy attacking you with knife = fear of death or serious bodily harm. Same applies if he has a bat, even. Hell, even someone small could probably get away with shooting if their attacker was unarmed but much larger than them.

And you'd be wrong, especially if the man in question was in a rural area. Hell, Texas allows it's citizens to shoot people in the back if they're retreating with property. You think they'd convict someone of firing warning shots?

Not much of a story, but the TV shutting off followed by quiet movement freaked me out. Worth mentioning that I didn't take aim or anything, but was affixing the bayonet before I moved to my ammo cabinet.

I've been like this since I just about perma-died when I was 20 or so. Heart stopped for 10 minutes or thereabout, because of a defect, and since, I haven't been able to give two shits about anything. Whatever. At least I can't go crazy. Video games for me, movies, and books. It's easier to disassociate with my problems when I'm in a land of someone eases conflict. Sometimes I write, but that's not something anyone in my personal life knows about. That's for me, and once you get past the apprehension a great tool for de-stressing.

I also like to go hiking, I've done a few threads on /k/ about it too. I just start walking, trail or no trail it doesn't really matter. It's kind of like playing Skyrim or New Vegas. Just walk and look for shit, see something interesting go take a look. I want to take a camera with me, but failing that I use my phone to document my stuff. It doesn't have to be innawoods either if getting out there is a difficulty. Found some wonky shit just in my neighborhood on walks.

It's how I found pic related from my first outing posted on /k/.

You may not give to shits because you've broken through the fear of death and realize the finite-ness of life, or there is a problem with your adrenal system.

Thanks for the suggestions, but nothing does anything for me. I think I will spend my four days off of work, sleeping as much as possible. Problem with my job is I manage fucking morons, the client is run by retards, and all of the customers of the client are retarded.

I doubt you'd be able to find even one incident in the U.S. that involves a home owner getting prosecuted for killing an intruder. You'll be able to find a few that involve people getting prosecuted for using illegal guns to defend themselves, but that's about it. In fact, the only incident that I am personally aware of that involves a home owner getting arrested for shooting burglars occurred in Milton Kansas back in 2011, and even that eventually got dismissed.
