not at all, you cant confuse where you are aiming because you only have one on the scope and therefore only one with the crosshair. the other eye keeps you able to spot anything happening around you.

Hell no, if you're able to still concentrate on the sight picture while your other eye is open, by all means do so. There are some who just can't focus that well, myself included, in order to do this, and I recognize how much of a disadvantage this could be.
