The way I see it:
Guns that use lower pressure rounds are easier and cheaper to make. Cheaper guns sell more to the poor and to straw purchasers. It means their more likely to be stolen, lost, or intentionally sold into the hands of a criminal.
That means its going to turn up more often at crime scenes.
Not to suggest its a better gun, just that this is one of the more popular types used by badguys.
