>>2882171He's definitely worth reading. He's primarily known these days for the Hoke Moseley detective novels he wrote in the 80s (Miami Blues etc). Those are good, but his earlier books also cover a lot of other topics. A couple of novels from after his pulp days, Cockfighter and The Burnt Orange Heresy, are probably his best ones, and his autobiographies Something About a Soldier and I Was Looking for a Street are good as well.
