Hey /lit/ I want to read books on norse mythology. I want something a little easier to read than the Prose and Poetic Edda and something not like an encyclopedia.
Think of something like The Silmarillion but on Norse mythology.
Okay, /lit/, this will truly be a crossroads for /lit/ lurkers and posters alike. Whether you have just stumbled upon /lit/ or are a /lit/erary beast, I know, deep down, that you have always, ALWAYS, wanted to write your own short story.
This is how it's going to work. It is May 1st 2011 at 7:32pm. All of you /lit/s will take to typing a short story on a proposed topic. This short story will be written and edited between now and exactly a week from now.
This week's topic will be:
The Meaning of Life
Feel free to bump for participation, and share your thoughts and feelings on the meaning of life. Just because you're writing this book alone, doesn't mean you can't draw inspiration from a discussion regarding its main theme.
Okay /lit/ I normally don't post here, just lurk or ask for book suggestions occasionally. I'm taking a class based around Gothic Literature/Horror etc. I have an assignment to write a short Gothic scene and I am drawing a fucking blank. I also need some sort of visual image or song or whatever to accompany it.
So I came to ask for your suggestions. All I need is a pic and a topic/theme/plot or whatever and I'm sure I can come up with a little something, only needs to be around 300 words. Any help you can offer would be great.
Pic Related I am more into urban gothic stuff like in The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
