Hey /lit/, I was reading this today and realized I know pretty much nothing about Japanese theatre. I need some recommendations, be it non-fiction, fiction, maybe youtube videos even.

But as for this collection, my favorite so far is definitely the first, Sotoba Komachi. I've still got The Lady Aoi and Hanjo to read too, but the first has captured me the most so far. I can still recognize the basic No themes in it (that I learned from the introduction), and yet Mishima gives it this surreal, modern kind of loneliness. It left me questioning, and I liked that.

Also we can have a Japanese lit general, since I'm not sure Japanese theatre by itself will keep the thread bumped enough to get any recs.

Shit. I think I've got writer's block.

Just started on a new novel. I have the basic plot outlined in my notebook, but when it comes to writing the whole thing seems to have ground to a halt.

I'm not happy with what I've already written and yet I don't want to scrap the work I've already done, in case I get caught in mercilessly re-editing what I have.

No real point to make here. Just wanted to vent.

Fuck.

I want to write a novel with all sorts of mechanized combat, from tanks to jets to powered armor. I'd like to read some books that have this sort of thing, so that I'd see how to actually accomplish this.
I've already read Starship Troopers, what else should I read?

I'm looking for some good science fiction books. Preferably some in the cyberpunk genre. Books that deal with small people going against huge corporations or just something bigger than themselves.

I don't mind politics in my books, though I don't want them to get out weighed by them. I'd prefer for the book to focus on a character or a small group of characters in this world.

I'd heard some good things about the Takeshi Kovacs series and the William Gibson trilogy that starts with Neuromancer. Are there any other good ones out there?

Alright /lit/, I'm a young student, and I'm gonna go immerse myself in literature and philosophy. I'll probably never come back, seeing that this is a distraction and only really reminds how poorly read I am. Anyway, thanks for inspiring me everybody. I have a few ideas about where I would start, but does anyone have any suggestions?
