i don't think people realize that sort of casually saying "niggers" to all your problems and anything you don't like is really fucking dehumanizing, and that the sort of deliberately nonchalant way it's passed off here on 4chan translates into actual real racism.
and i'm not naive, i got hollered at for not being black while i rode my bike on the south side of chicago just last week. i know black people aren't always the friendliest to people from outside of their race and/or neighborhood. but they're still human and there's some bare minimum level of respect that each human is entitled to regardless of how poorly he treats others. writing off an entire race as "niggers" is a surefire way to exacerbate racial tension and inequality in this country.
tl;dr i use 4chan but i realize how corrosive it is to my understanding of race in america. i struggle with finding a balance of having a laugh and embodying the ideals i'd like to see us live by. i reject the "lol niggers" mindset.

Civil rights movement started in the 1960's, and by the 2000's we had a black president. It happened so fast, most republicans are still trying to figure out if this is the fucking real world still.
And that's largely the biggest problem, america is constantly in that "awkward teenager" phase of social development because we ARE always trying to shift towards equity in social issues, without a lot f time for society as a whole to catch up.

my point was that when a website develops a niche for something, it spreads. 4chan may be a generic free-flowing sort of conversation - witness this conversation on the automobiles board - but when a trend catches on, it happens more than it would outside of the context.
