I've got a gear question... Actually two. What does the M M/A slider on my Nikon DX AF-S 18-70 ED do? Also why does my camera allow for aperture values other than those on the lens. It is supposedly only F3.5-F4.5 yet in aperture priority mode it lets me set it from F3.5-F22.

M is full manual

M/A is autofocus but you can still manually focus

Other than my camera body, I have a Tamron 28-75 F/2.8, got it for around 380 bucks. Works very nice, but I wish I could use it more often; too fucking busy. It's my product photography workhorse though.

I got the 70-200 VR nikkor too, that the most expensive lens. Got the D3 which is the most expensive camera i got.

But does it make me a better photographer? Fuck no... christ i think i'm suffering for it, it's taking alot to get used to the D3 and the fuckin 51 point AF... jesus... if only the 5D2 wasn't a thousand dollars more expensive than the D700 i probably would have gone Canon.

Most expensive lens and my only lens is the 17-55 2.8 is usm.

After x-mas I will be getting the 70-200 is usm 2.8

if flashes count I have a 580 exII.

my camera is just a 400D (XTi), but Im happy with it for now... next year I may upgrade, I am starting to wish I had less noise at high ISO 800+ for indoor sports.
