>>485529I use a standard Silhouette SD. There's a newer model that is supposedly quieter, but I haven't seen it for myself. The SD only differes from the standard Silhouette by the addition of an SD card slot that lets you cut patterns stored on the SD card without a computer attached. I've never used this particular feature. You have to play around with your settings to get it to cut how you like, and you will eventually have to replace the blade a few times if you use it as much as I do. When it is operating, it sounds like an old dot matrix printer over a loudspeaker (BREEEEEE OOOOOORT CHAKA CHAKA CHAKA BREEEEE!). You can use mild adhesive spray to keep the carrier sheet good for continuous use. Make sure to stick it to a metal wall or something and peel it off a few times before putting your card stock on it, otherwise you will rip your cardstock and leave paper shreds on the transfer sheet when using it for the first time.
As always, I use Georgia Pacific 110lb card stock. Not sure about other brands, but it is readily available and prints and cuts well.
