This is a creative board.
If you came to create, great.
Otherwise, you are very poor trolls as /po/ is about the lowest traffic board on 4chan. What you're doing is akin to shouting and holding up a protest sign at a small poker game. Even if you had something you were trying to accomplish, you're in the wrong place for it.

Here's how to build the Rhino:

RHINO MkIIc INSTRUCTIONS:

The templates are designed for use with 0.5 mm thick card. Unless otherwise noted, all structure should be done 1.0 mm thick.

Cut along continuous lines. Scratch and fold "backwards" along the dotted lines. Dotted lines marked with "x" are meant to be scratched on the backside of the card and then folded to the printed side of the paper. Dash and dot lines indicate positions where other parts will be fixed.

Main hull (rhino1.gif; printing size 18.0 x 27.0cm):

Cut out 1A and bend where indicated. Cut out the two small rectangles on the front (windows) and the top hatch. Glue a fitting piece of card from the backside under the opening for the top hatch.
Cut out carefully 1D (windscreen wiper) and glue it on 1C. Then glue this from inside under the window openings.

Now cut and fold 1B and fix it to 1A. Together with the two parts 2 this gives the main section of the Rhino.

Next is the structure 3A to 3D, all done 1mm thick and glued to the hull where indicated. Part 4 (1 or 1.5 mm thick) is glued over the windows.

5B is glued on 5A (both 0.5 mm thick) and this fixed in the matching gaps in the structure 3B.

Bolter:

Cut out 6a (1 or 1.5mm thick). There are three different 6a's, depending if you want the Bolter point forward, down or up. Next do 6b and glue it centric on 6a.

Two layers of structure are fixed on 6b: 6c and 6d (both 0.5mm thick).
If you work accurate enough, you should get a small gap along the left and right top edges. Carefully fill them with some Green Stuff or Fine Filler to create tiny 45 degree flattenings.

Cut out 6e (twice) and 6f and glue them together as indicated to create the ammo boxes (one for each side).

Rhino instructions continued:

Left track section (rhino2.gif; printing size 18.0 x 27.0cm):

Cut out 1A and glue a small piece of card on the backside to close the three ventilation openings.
1B and 1C completes the basic shape. Before you fix 1B, cut a 1.2 mm broad strip of card, fold it and glue it inside to give the track section more strength.

Do 2A and 2B as 1.0 mm structure and glue it toward 1A and 1B as indicated. 2C and 2D (1.0 mm) are fixed on the front and rear of 1C.

The door 3A is done 1 mm thick and fixed to the track section. The parts 3B (1mm) are glued in the notches in 3A, the parts 3C (1.5mm thick) on 3B where indicated.

Cut and fold 4 to form the engine exhausts.
5A (0.5mm) is covered with the structure 5B (1.0mm) and glued to the front (on 2D).

Cut out 6A (0.5 or better 1.0 mm thick). Fold the wheels 90° backwards. Now glue this on the bottom side of the track section. Note that the correct position is not in the centre but more towards the main hull.

Add 6B and 6C. Cut and fold 6D. Glue always one between two opposite wheels so that the wheels are fixed.

A pair of Cen-Tech 6" dial calipers, tailors tape and Corel draw. Corel lets me breeze through vector design since it has dock to point and dock to edge settings as well as free-floating rotational points that can likewise dock to an edge or node.
Beyond that, the process is making a 3-up view of what I'm crafting and figuring out how to simplify the geometry into build-able shapes.

No 3d models. If you use google sketchup or 3D Studio max or whatnot and have Pepakura unfold it, you don't have as much freedom over the design process as just starting from your template/exploded view. This also allows me to make changes during the modelling part when a structure seems overly complex to build. Instead of moving my facets and tabs around, I can go back in and redesign the part from scratch. I can also get by with having a lot of overly complex detail work such as paneling lines be represented as a vector texture applied over a facet. In this way, recoloring is a breeze since I just click on the background section and tell Corel to use whatever new color is needed. No messy pixelated meshes to deal with of cumbersome reskins. Judging by the fact that Patoroch's templates are vector outlines akin to my own, I think he uses the same methods as well.

Looks nice. Love the explosion. All DE vehicles end up as craters by the end of a game anyway. Even I wouldn't have put in the effort to make a gunner out of paper (mainly because all the DE vehicle kits come with lots of extra riders and gunners to use). Did you use a computerized cutting machine on the grating or was that done by hand?

These were modified from patoroch's Killa Kan templates. The legs were all redone or built from scratch. The yellow kan in the center uses modified legs from the Deff Dread template. I came up with a Kustom mega blasta template as per request from the guy who commissioned these from me. I'll see if I can't dig the files up for these, but the modifications aren't documented, so it might just look like a random page of parts.

This is one hell of a timesink, and if you can keep your attention enough to make all these models I'm sure you could so something worthwhile with your time.

TL:DR, I guess even Vanatu or Zambia has some sort of store where these are sold, so I guess the poor thing is not your country but you. Do something useful with your time to change that. Warhammer is the absolute opposite of doing something worthwhile with your time.

Well, these are also 2,5d :) I just put more parts and tons of glue until they look more like real models. As for fire dragons, I made their armor by pieces, a flat body, than I put breastplates on it, glue a fuel tanks (or whatever it is) on the back,etc. On some models I use toothpicks for hands, glued with superglue and covered in normal glue for additional thickness

I really recommend superglue for delicate parts and making squads in bulks.

There's a few minor tweaks I'm going to do to it overall. I also have to set one up for silhouette use, so the max page size is 7" x 9" for that and should stretch it out to five pages. The flat dark lances would probably look better if they were done similar to the dark lances on the razorwing where they're a horizontal and vertical cross section that intersect. Should also be able to get the EML and other weapons options as well as the underslung shuriken cannon. I plan on redoing the barrels of the twin-llinked shuriken catapault since they don't look that good as a multi-layered part and could be done better.

takes a long time but I am not too good at it, some people build them much more quickly. The red stormtalon took me from Sept 13 to Sept 21 but I don't know how much time per day, probably a couple of hours each evening.
As far as how hard, not too hard, one must be careful and pay attention and take his time but anybody could build those (again thanks to how nice newobmij templates are)

Apologies for taking a day to get back, I'm from the UK. When I tried putting a couple of chimeras together two years ago, one fell apart from the glue I was using warping it terribly (wouldn't stick unless I used a load of it) and the other that came out slightly better ended up having a hole where I'd clearly folded something wrong. Which is a shame as I want nothing more than a guardsman army with 9 glorious bassilisks looking cool, even if just as scenery.

The texture of some of those looks wierd, are they made of modeling clay? Do they go over the paper model w/ clay?

are you talking about my titan or the builds in the catalog? In the catalog, some are using either green stuff or some other modeling putty to make it more "chaotic" or dirty.

In the case of my titan, the cast iron texture was created by mixing GW paint with artists' gel medium and stippling it on the surface.

I never used resin apart from green stuff from what I read it is something that will output pretty noxious fumes (read about respirators and such) definitely not something that can be used in an appartment

there is a water based resin available through Ace Hardware, but the problem is....it's water based. I reinforce with sandable auto body primer that has an epoxy base and so adds some strength to the model.

Yeah, polyester resin in an apartment is probably not a great idea. Epoxy would probably be workable though. More expensive, but barely smells at all in comparison.

In fact, if anyone wants the .studio files for the Silhoette cutter, let me know and I can send you what I have. The Necron Monoliths and Thunderhawks are the only designs I've made that are too big to cut.

Bright lances (or other weapon options), sensor vanes, shuriken catapults and some of the printed detail really needs to be raised. Only problem with raising more of the detail is that lots of it is rounded segments and the only good way to raise it and make it buildable is to have it blocky, which tosses off the whole look of the model. It's one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't things. Also, the underside could use some work as getting the serrated tabs near the back of the forks to line up with the side thruster box was a pain.

I use a standard Silhouette SD. There's a newer model that is supposedly quieter, but I haven't seen it for myself. The SD only differes from the standard Silhouette by the addition of an SD card slot that lets you cut patterns stored on the SD card without a computer attached. I've never used this particular feature. You have to play around with your settings to get it to cut how you like, and you will eventually have to replace the blade a few times if you use it as much as I do. When it is operating, it sounds like an old dot matrix printer over a loudspeaker (BREEEEEE OOOOOORT CHAKA CHAKA CHAKA BREEEEE!). You can use mild adhesive spray to keep the carrier sheet good for continuous use. Make sure to stick it to a metal wall or something and peel it off a few times before putting your card stock on it, otherwise you will rip your cardstock and leave paper shreds on the transfer sheet when using it for the first time.

As always, I use Georgia Pacific 110lb card stock. Not sure about other brands, but it is readily available and prints and cuts well.
