>>12177129Ah! Lumbar punctures, I couldn't remember the name for those. That's the spine operation that I was talking about. The doctor nicked a nerve one time and I twitched really bad. I HATED those.
Yeah, most of my blood counts were good so I didn't have to have many transfusions. A couple times I had to go to the hospital (2 hours more or less depending on traffic) to get a transfusion and make sure everything was alright.
The only long term lines I had were a PICC in my right arm and the Broviac in the picture, oh, and I also had this small tube that went in through my side into my lung to drain a bunch of fluid. I think it drained over a litre of nasty fluid. None of those had any infections.
For the PICC and the draining tube I was REALLY drugged up and didn't even feel it. And I was awake for the removal of the PICC which hurt a bit, but the drain tube was more of a weird, tingling sensation rather then pain.
I was out for both the insertion and removal of my Broviac.
Those infections sound nasty, did you take good care of your lines or did you just have bad luck with them?
