Fantasy and Sci-Fi Books

No.800086 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I used to always read fantasy books when I was younger, mainly R.A. Salvatore books but got rather bored of them. I'm wanting to get back into fantasy and sci-fi books.

I just finished The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski. I loved it and hope the other Witcher books get released here soon. I'm reading The Thirteen and a Half Lives of Captain Bluebear by Walter Moers. I like it, strikes me as a fantasy homage to Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy or something. I haven't read many sci-fi books overall, only one I've really enjoyed is a Babylon 5 book. Star Trek books and Star Wars books never really struck my fancy. I've seen a lot of John Ringo books but I'm afraid their bad shit that are just whipped out rather quick. I love Issac Asimov's short stories.

I'm considering some hard sci-fi (someone in the past has suggest Revelation Space, so I'll check that out sometime), but soft sci-fi is cool as well. For fantasy I suppose I'd prefer dark fantasy, I'd prefer my characters to be made up of shades of gray and well-rounded instead of fairly flat and either black or white (R.A. Salvatore's books were bad for this, became pretty obvious the characters would never really change much). I've considered some Conan books, anyone I needs to start with to really get me into the universe?

>tl;dr I want some SF and fantasy books
Pic related, just bought it.
