2. It's kind of standard practice, just like intentional draws, prize splits, and not playing out the top eight. When somebody doesn't follow the "rules" people get pissed. Most players I know at fnm would have conceded. In fact, what do you do if you draw in the first round? Some people roll a die for it, I declined to do that once, but I guess it really does make more sense, now that I think about it.
3. The dude had a bad attitude from the start. He was all mumbling and sloppy, like he was on qualudes or something. I had another game before that which was very close and intense and a lot of fun with some stoner dude that brought his wife and kid. So I guess it doesn't always make people into dicks. I could tell that Married Guy was kind of flustered when I pulled the win out unexpectedly in game three, but I was a very gracious winner and expressed how good the game was, etc.
