First, for all the french anons here (they mustn't be that much), TRU is holding a sale, where all the leaders are at €24.99 and for €20 and more that you spend in Transformers, they give you €5 back that you can use in the store the day after.

But onto the review. For those who don't like "old" toys review, sorry, but next time, it'll be even worse !

First, F-22 mode. This mode is pretty kibble-free, apart from the undercarriage, and even if the ROTF Voyager does a better job on this part, the Leader doesn't have hands below his thrusters.

The fact that the color isn't this brownish gray anymore is a good point since it looked bad on Starscream, and detracted from his overall look, both in robot and plane mode.

As you can see, the back looks good too, even if there is a bit too many screwholes for my taste, and the waist piece is clearly the biggest part of the undercarriage kibble.

Here is a comparison with the ROTF leader prime. As you can see, they look pretty much in scale with each other, even if I'm not sure of how big is a real Peterbilt 379.

Again, while the undercarriage kibble is pretty big, it's still sort of aerodynamic, and blends okay with the rest of the fuselage. Still, it's not the best angle to look at starscream in plane mode, obviously.

Ah, sorry, since the seat inside the cokpit of the F-22 looked like it was near the same size as a seat that would fit the Peterbilt, I though they would be of similar scale.

Onto robot mode, next. The robot mode looks great, particulary in these colors. I just can't imagine what it would have looked like in this old brown-ish color, and don't want to, anyway.

The proportions seems okay and even if the movie model isn't respected at 100% (since he's still a bit thinner), I think this is as close as we can get from a perfect movie starscream (even if the DOTM deluxe seems to get many things right).

Again, the back is pretty faithful to his movie self, even if the thrusters aren't here, and even with all the accessories stocked on his back, he still looks clean enough (note that the panel that locks his back section into place isn't placed properly on the back, but permits the missile launcher to store better on his back).

well, he cost €60 in France, normally, but with the promotion, he gets very affordable for such a big figure.

Pushing the red lever on his forearms make his weapons appear : on the right arm, a gattling gun, and on the left arm, a duo of missiles.

Yup, same mold, same sound effects as the US one (not the european, though, since he only says "decepticon" and "starscream" which is retarded). The only thing that changes is the paint aps.

Back to the review, thing that I never saw precised (and I can totally understand why...) is the fact that you can use the peg on the missiles to fix them on the pegholes on the hands, which is totally useless, but still a good way to add even more weapons to an already overpowered Starscream.

In term of articulations, it's good, while not perfect. The basic articulations are here, but there is some sort of thigh swivel and a better range of motion in the arms that are missing. I know it sounds like what I'm asking for is too much, but I was often blocked by the elbow articulations to do more dynamic poses. The side-torso articulations are very nice, but I wish they would go backward too, which is impossible due to the way the articulation is done and it would be blocked by the kibble anyway.

So, Starscream is a nice and solid figure that represent well his movie self, and looks good in both modes. The only downside of this figure is really the kibble and the articulations that could be a bit better, but those are minor complaints on an overall very good figure. A must-buy as long as you like movie Starscream's design.

As always, I hope that some of you enjoyed it and if you want other pictures of the figure, just tell me, and I'll see what I can do.

I think next review will be next week I think, a brown Deluxe sold back in 2006.
