I'd go Jungle Entertainment Hobby Shop because they've treated me very well and they're basically a second Mandarake that sometimes has way better prices in my opinion, at least on SAS figures. I've seen people praise them for their Figuarts prices, but don't have actual experience.

Might want to add what to watch out for; for example Toys 'n Joys having a terrible online reputation, and if it's cheap on ebay (and in Hong Kong) it's probably a bootleg.
Also explain more about mandarake, since it's not like the others in terms of it being second-hand, as well as the 500yen fee for orders under 5000 (I think).

SAL should have a warning that it can in more-frequently-than-rare circumstances take months to arrive to its destination. I have had SAL take literally 2.5 months to arrive to me on the east coast from japan.

If this hasn't already been fixed: RSAL is available on HLJ and HS too, you just need to request it in the message box when you make an order.

I'll also vouch that SAL doesn't get lost 'frequently.' I'm in the US and I've never lost a SAL package in my years of buying.

I noticed that Rider Proxy is not so big on having planned payment options anymore.
When Preordering RD Zaku I Sniper type, She quoted me 5000yen for preorder, which is lower than the total preorder price of 6200yen still, but when I asked her about a payment option where I pay her half of the total price for preorder and the other half + shipping fee when the item is in stock like I have with 3 of my previous preorders from her, she completely ignored me.
Only after paying the 5k yen preorder deposit she reponded back to me.

I asked her once again about the other payment option and she has yet to reply back to me.

I've done a lot of business with her, and she asks me what I wanted to have for the initial deposit because she knows I'm good for it. (Paid the entire total of the figure because I like knowing I just have to wait for the shipping quote, much easier)

Also, you said she didn't respond until after you paid her? How much time did you give? Because maybe she was, I don't know, busy, and you were impatient?

Like Suri said, I've never had RP round up shipping either. She charged me for the same EMS price as what she sent it out as, if not /less/ than what she spent.

Someone I know ordered Uva, Tajawings, and I think the Shinkengers and then never finished paying for them. That's the kind of shit that causes Middle men to stop playing 'nice'. So, blame assholes.

After I paid her I got a response pretty much right away the same day, confirming my payment and stuff.

I dont mind having to pay the full price for preorders, as I have done so before when I was using yokatta, its just that having those payment options is what drew me to using RP. Shes still a real good person to deal with though.

They don't automatically process and ship items as they arrive in-stock if you have other preorder items pending. And they don't reserve your items either. So if you're not there to hit the "ship my shit now you fucks" button, by the time they actually get around to processing your order half of it may well be out of stock.

That's seriously all it is. I do 90% of my pre-orders there because of FedEx, and I always get everything. You just need to be aware of /when/ the item comes out, go to HLJ and see if they have it marked in stock and then request them to ship it and they'll ask you for payment.

But they're a bitch about combining orders - if you were to preorder Link and another figure that comes out in October, you'd have to ship them separately unless you happened to preorder them at the same time.

The online store is only available for international shipping on exclusive items, as far as I'm aware, meaning it's probably about as cheap as you'll get it.

If it's the same as it was, then the shipping is flat-rate 2000 yen. Meaning if you buy 1 or 5, you'll still pay 2000 yen for EMS shipping.

There was a fiasco with one of the Support Mikus where they sent it out SAL instead of EMS, but they resolved that soon after and refunded everyone's shipping.

They're professional, but shipping is a bit bitchy as they have a weird system where it's 2000 yen flat for 5 items. Or some weird variation of that deal. You are also making preorders on a batch so you can't do combined shipping outside of the batch.

Some of the gsc items have been showing up on Mandarake for the same or less, and shipping is probably cheaper there. So that's something you can risk.

That's the thing, I've done this. Believe it or not, but I don't have a shitty card and I have no problems calling them up when there are problems in me getting my shit.

The thing is, the charges never even came from AmiAmi to BE denied. The problem IS them, and when I e-mailed them about it, they told me flat out - I wasn't the only person that's had this problem and they suggest using PayPal. That's it.

I've ordered from HLJ, Mandarake, Hobby Search, the works, this is the only site that has ever had this and continued to have this problem. It's nuts.

Well, it's not just that, this has been long overdue. We used to have a page on our Wiki with all this info that we could link to, but the Wiki is dead now.
