It was an island Kerguelen of French Southern and Antarctic Lands. I looked around, saw some pictures, read some scientific articles and I was absolutely amazed. This is the place that I want to visit.

Well, my question is if there is any tourist agency focused on antarctic areas that is visiting this island or how can a guy (as a tourist but willing to the do some work there) get there. Or if it is even possible.

Hey /trv/ Im going to do a college in Canada and I have to choose a city to live while that. I dont know shit about any Canadian city. Help me pick one?

Details:

-College is gonna be marketing or commerce.
-City shouldnt be that big. I even would go as far to say a small city would be better.
-Jobs, i need to help paying for the college.
-Not that much immigrants if possible. I wanna leave my country far behind and dont have to talk to the old people I used too.
- I dont speak French but Im able to learn.
- I would preffer to rent a place than to live with a family so rent prices shold be low if possible.
- I think most of Canada is cold, but I want cold climate almost all year and fucking snow everywhere sometimes.
- Good public transport.

So here's the route under MapSource, the program I use to make waypoints and routes the GPS will be able to read on the road. I am using it only for waypoints (i.e. the cities we will stop at for a few hours or a night or a day). And I use google earth to make proper decisions when it comes to precise routes, because it has a gigantic advantage: altitude graphs ! I can get the average climb percentage of a route just like that, which is great. Plus it automatically maps out a series of checkpoints for each route it finds between two cities, and allows me to pick which one I want - this is very useful to make sure we always avoid highways for instance.

So why am I posting ?

I want to know what you have to say about these cities. Would you make things different ? Would you "trash" some of them for a reason ? I have googled each of them and they all seemed to have something for tourism of all kinds.
