ITT: We discuss Airports. One of my favorites is MDT (Harrisburg International) because of its small size its nice and quiet. Only downside is that its more expensive to fly in/out of it. Plus those rocking chairs they have setup are wicked comfortable. Least favorite is probably DCA (Reagan National).

Whoever thought it would be a good idea for people to have to go through security while connecting flights in Philadelphia is retarded.

i love mexico city's international airport (MEX); the new design is pretty cool; with the ambient lights and has lots of fun places to hang out and shop. barcelona el prat(BCN) and paris' charles de gaulle (CDG) are also pretty cool, first one for shopping and the second architecture-wise. I hate the Toronto and Madrid airports; because they are quite boring if you have a long-ass connection flight and the Madrid airport doesnt know shit about organization and the staff doesnt know a thing about what is going on at the airport

I'm going to be traveling around Latin and South America in a few months. My Spanish is pretty much non existent and I've been trying to prepare myself as much as I can before I leave. My goal is to be able to speak conversational Spanish so I can at least get my ideas across. I've tried programs like "The Rosetta Stone" but found it to be boring as hell: Pero. Pero. Pero. *click* I heard that Super Memo is good for learning languages. I was thinking about just inputting Spanish vocabulary and trying to memorize as much as I can. But anyways, what's are some good ways to learn conversational Spanish. I'm focusing on grammar and vocabulary.

I went to Baltimore for Otakon. After the convention there was a disheveled barefoot black man walking through the nearby square with a gallon jug of orange drink spouting incoherent phrases. ....maybe he was trying to be ironic?

Hey. I'm looking to find the dutch word for the English "trade agent", or what seems to be called Handelsvertreter in german. IE a person that takes your goods and introduces them on the wholesale market. For your pleasure, here's a picture of Katja, but I always did prefer Daphne Brunks... Buns... something ....

Some friends and I want to travel to Japan for the summer, as a senior graduation trip of sorts. I've got my hands on some friend passes with Delta(The pity sighs, I hear them) for $400 bucks each, and we plan on leaving in late June, just before the Japanese Summer Break. I've made plans on getting a place through the Tokyo Craiglist, but this seems unreliable. So, /trv/ advice, recommendations, what would my expenses be, recommendations on accommodations for up to 8 people, etc?
Quoted By:
How about hiring out an apartment?
Anonymous
Quoted By:
If you made plans through the Tokyo craigslist, I'm going to assume you're going to want to live in Tokyo or nearby, right? It's expensive here, and it's difficult to find an apartment if you want something other than the usual gaijin guest house (though a few of those are apparently okay). Do you plan on eating out all the time, or preparing your own meals? The latter can easily cost more if you're not careful; an apple can be anywhere from 88 yen-128 yen. Good fish can be expensive. How many months will you be here? I recommend that you get a cell phone, because otherwise it will be difficult to have a social life here. Moar details required to give moar advice.

I used to live in Albuquerque but moved to Colorado in middle school. I am now a junior in college. Im thinking about taking a nostalgia trip back to ABQ over winter break. So far my plans are to wander around in the desert/mountains for a few days and maybe meet up with any old friends that are around. Any other ideas on what could be fun to do?

>>82526 Yeah, I'll have to agree with him. Whether or not you used to live in Albuquerque, it is a festering disease of a city.
Do yourself a favor, take some money and spend some time in Santa Fe. It's nice there around this time of year.

go to the sandias. drive to the bisti badlands. drive east to moriarty and then whatever road that is that goes south around the manzanos. great mountain goodness there. go to old town to see all the luminarias. you probably don't want to go to santa fe. it is crawling with the same californians that have invaded and destoryed colorado.
