It certainly is an improvement that Microsoft removed all that shit with the once a day check in, but the fact is they tried to completely fuck us over in the first place (until I suspect they started seeing preorder numbers and how pissed the world's military's were about the decision).

The fact that they can't confirm to us that the once-a-day check won't come back for the system is worrying as hell too.
