Molyneux's fine, his problem is his fucking giant mouth. The games he makes are typically pretty great, but he often can't tell the difference between what he sees in his head and what something actually is. To him, Fable 2 has changing seasons and aging and the dog is a great game mechanic.

I can't think of any games with attacks or anything but Magicka throws you right in with spells.

Best part is that there is no progression with new spells, but the enemies get more difficult as the game progresses. So it's just how you master the abilities over time.

Honestly, the only exception I can think of in DaS is the great scythe, and even that can be grabbed with a bit of patience and acrobatics within twenty minutes of showing up at Firelink.

Mostly, these are Western devs that don't get this. I haven't played a Western video game that has actual replay value. They think than only spamming more enemies that are hard to kill, make you more vulnerable is considered a replay challenge.
