>>3439736It was alright. I was a jack of all trades, so to say. I mostly ran rides and did food stalls and games whenever it was a slow day or whenever they needed help, like if one of their people called in sick.
My ride was either Shivering Timbers (the huge wooden one they have) or the Corkscrew. It was a lot of fun hyping people up for the ride and yelling "RIDERS, HOW WAS YOUR RIIIIIIIIDE." Douchey, but it was an easy job, just sitting down next to a mic and yelling all day. Plus I could control the music when my managers were feeling particularly cool/not there.
The games are basically all rigged, obviously, and it's super easy to steal money from that place. I never did, and I think I kind of regret that, but the park pulled so much money, they only cared if you were over or under $50. That's a lot of change to go missing. Especially on games, where there is no register/log of transactions, you could seriously just let people play and pocket their money instead of dropping it into the little fanny pack you had.
Also, I worked the huge kettle corn stall a lot, where you made it in a giant fucking cauldron, and shit was soooo good. Ate it all day.
All in all, a solid job. Grueling hours, though. Never got a day less than 10 hours, usually about 14 or so, with a 20 minute break that included walking across the entire fucking park to the breakroom. Managers (minus one) were douchebags. The higher-ups for Cedar Fair (who bought Michigan's Adventure a few years back) were cool, though. Not the douchey suits I imagined they'd be.
