How about we get a local legends/folklore thread going?
I don't have a lot to contribute on the matter, but here in Southwest Michigan we have stories of Melon Heads. There's even a story about how if you go underneath a certain bridge and turn your headlight off they'll start beating the shit out of your car.
So what sorts of legends and folklore does your area have /x/?
The challenge is, to imagine the most terrifying or bizarre creature you can think of. Then post it here and describe it in detail. Let's see who has the most fucked up imagination. Drawfags of /x/ are welcome to interpret /x/'s visions.
>white, gossamer cat like creature with fine fur >approximately 4 feet tall at the shoulder >human shaped head with no mouth, ears, or nose >a single large red slit eye that opens horizontally sits in the center of its face >no discernible pupil, just swirling black and red >has two small, thin tentacles or barbels that hang from its chin that move in strange jerky snaps >excretes black "glowing" orbs from a puckered opening in its chest, which float a way and gradually shrink into nothingness >is able to "melt" into nearby objects and surfaces >can reappear out of far away objects or surfaces
Let's get caught up on this, my beautiful /x/ detectives. >Girl is filmed in an elevator acting as though she's high as balls >Girl disappears >Girl is found dead, in a water tank on the roof of her hotel. Why is this strange? In order to get onto the roof she would've had to bypass: >several locked doors >an alarm system >lots of security guards >a locked water tank Other interesting stuff: >This hotel has a sordid past, many serial killers, including the Night Stalker have stayed in it >There is-possibly-missing time on the elevator video >Several hotel guests can now say that they once drank and bathed in a person. Ewww. >Guests also reported strange smells and bad water pressure way BEFORE Elisa showed up at the hotel
I think someone on hotel staff killed her. I wouldn't be surprised if that water tank hasn't been used before to dispose of a body. This hotel seems like the perfect place for a serial killer.
Then again, maybe she OD'd, someone on staff freaked out and tossed her in the water tank, thinking she was just another sad forgotten girl who wouldn't be noticed missing...
Lets get educated a bit /x/. You all know the creepy wikipedia articles list floating around. I categorized it and added new links as well so you can just read what interests you, if you know something missing, feel free to add it
I don't know how many people know or care. But X19 formerly /x/Radio has been shut down. The guy in-charge has been stressed out and according to his Facebook post he felt unappreciated and like no one really wanted the station. So if you want X19 back we have to post and tell him that we want it. I know I want it and as a dedicated fan of the station I am willing to whatever to bring it back.

I know you eggheads will end up reading this journal so I'll go ahead and tell you what I think of your crap. I think these glorified tin cans stink and so do you. The switch to power armor was bad enough but now we're guinea pigs for these new thinking suits. The AI is buggier than hell so if I get blown away by rebel shells you can be damned sure it was because of one of your goddamned glitches. Seems like every day the suit breaks down in some new way. The software got rushed, I know it. I don't know why we even keep these voice journals anymore with these things reading our thoughts all the time.

I ran through an hour of suit updates this morning, so far so good. The motion seems a little smoother but I'm holding off on congratulating the lab coats at Auricle yet. These constant software updates have really been bogging down the guys and they're getting sick of it. Auricle noted that the updates were mostly interface patches to fix some of the motion anomalies we've been experiencing with the suits. On top of that, Malloy's voice relay has been throwing out a lot of random gibberish instead of his words, it got so bad yesterday that he spent the day wearing an old standard issue helmet just so we could understand him. The guys had a good laugh over it, he looked pretty silly in that antiquated salad bowl, ready to go fight and die in one of the old wars before mechanization. No word from Auricle about any solution there, as usual.
Post your creepy driving stories. Driving at night or day, see/ hear something, car is somewhere where it shouldn't be, etc. I'll start:
>be two years ago >be like 11 at night, pitch black, no moon >I am driving my three friends to one of their house >lives out of town, never took him home, in an area that I have never been before, I'll probably get lost, but do anyways >starts telling stories about how messed up the area is: Local myth about goatman nearby, rabid dogs just stare at you as you drive by with blood dripping from their teeth, an abandoned house that has one light on all of the time, ghosts haunting that road, smelling smoke and hearing whispers (I guess from a house fire many years ago) etc. >drop them off, turn around to go home, spooked, so turn off radio, go slow, and try to chill >start hearing noises in the car with me, think I see things in the brush >get lost because area is weird >I swear there is whispering in the way back of my car (driving an SUV) >nope.tiff the fuck outa there, just to a main road >all of the sudden, I am just in familiar area again, after my phone was not working trying to call the friend to ask him where I was and how to get out
I know it is not creepy, but the best I have. What are yours?
