Anyone ever get into www.strange.com? I spent 5 hours with my friend the other day to no avail. I doubt it's anything that great but curiosity got the best of me.

Ausfag here, I have a question for /x that I often ponder about Area 51, Amerifags please comment:

Area 51: The whole world knows what it is and what it is about. Level of security and threatening signs aside, I don't understand why with the level of speculation, interest and concern, sightings etc, why someone hasn't organised a walkin. Surely if thousands of people joined in and just walked straight in with media coverage, the amount of attention such an act would generate would be astounding, and I wouldn't imagine in a situation like this the military/guards would use lethal force? they would have a hard time arresting thousands of people staging a non violent walkin or protest and Id imagine it would be an act that would show the government that the public is ready, wants to know and bring it into the international spotlight.

What would stop this?

In 1883, a woman was found trampled to death and, on her body and a nearby bush, were clumps of reddish fur. Large hoof prints were found in the area, but locals were perplexed. A short time later, a large animal careened into a tent in which two miners lay sleeping. Though they were unable to identify the beast, again, large hoof prints and tufts of red hair were left behind. After more incidents occurred, the locals finally recognized the large animal as a camel. Soon, people began to report seeing the camel, who one rancher said carried a rider, though the rider appeared to be dead. The next report came from a group of prospectors who saw the camel and while watching him, spied something falling from its back. As the beast moved on, the prospectors went to see what had fallen and discovered a human skull. For the next several years, numerous others spied the camel, who by this time had been dubbed the "Red Ghost,” carrying its headless rider. However, in 1893, when an Arizona farmer found the red camel grazing in his garden, he shot and killed the beast. By this time, the large camel had shaken free of its dead rider, but still bore the saddle and leather straps with which the corpse had been attached.

There was much speculation as to who the mysterious dead rider the camel had carried for several years might have been. One tale alleges that the rider was a young soldier, who was afraid of the camels, and therefore, was having much difficulty in learning how to ride them. In order to teach him how, his fellow soldiers tied him to the top of the beast, determined that he would get over his fear. They then hit the camel on the rump and the beast took off running. Though the soldiers pursued the camel and his rider, the red beast easily outpaced them and escaped into the desert. Neither the camel, nor his helpless rider, were ever seen again.

Let's start up a urban legend/lore thread. I don't remember seeing one here before. I think it could be pretty legit though.

Creepy Unsolved Crimes Thread

No.12792992 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
It's that time again, /x/.
Put on your trench-coats and Fedoras and light up a cigarette in a dimly-lit office with a shot glass of fine liquor, it’s time for a creepy unsolved crimes thread.

I know we had a thread like this semi-recently, but people enjoyed it even more than usual, and it seemed to end a little prematurely. So, what’s the harm in trying again? Maybe this needs to become a more regular event on /x/.

Unexplained disappearances. Perpetrators vanishing without a trace. “Suspicious” suicides. Bizarre, ritualized murders and messages from an anonymous killer. Indecipherable pieces of evidence. Incomprehensible acts of theft and terrorism. Horrific acts of violence with no apparent motive. Inexplicable or even supernatural elements to crime that defy conventional understanding. Tales of corrupt officials and conspiracies, tampering with evidence and suppressing the truth. Abduction, torture, ritual-murder, human-trafficking, secret societies and more.

Rookie Mode: Post a Wikipedia link.

Veteran Mode: Post a Wikipedia link AND a green-text summary in this thread that explains why the crime/event is so creepy, and inspires people to go and read the Wiki article.

As per usual, I’ll post some great copy-pasta from the previous iterations of this thread to get things started, and to keep this thread alive if things get slow.

Creepy Jobs/Workplaces

No.12675290 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Can we get a creepy workplaces thread going, like a "innajob" thread or something?

I'll start with my experience:

>Be 1 year ago
>Start working as a janitor, my job is to vacuum all 8 floors of this large building holding multiple firms
>It's an ezpz job, but doesn't pay well, just something to make me quick money while going to school
>It seems pretty normal at first, big empty buildings always creeped me out a bit, bit that was all
>Suddenly get scared as shit in newly refurbished office opened on 2nd floor
>Feel like something's watching me
>Have two coworkers, a younger lady and an older lady (25 and 50+ respectively)
>The younger one is very nice, we chat often
>We both are wary of the old lady, we were both hired recently, but she has been there 10+ years
>She seems nice, but she is very jumpy and shy, she wears earplugs all the time (even though her job makes no noise), and she is overall strange, sometimes would run really fast past dark windows, or talk to herself

>Continued

So I'm looking for some creepy music. Preferably of the ambient sort. The kind where there's nothing particularly that stands out about it, but it just sends chills through you.

Do your worst /x/
