I agree. Plot Armor has to exist, but combining that with an overly talkative Shirou can be annoying.

I groaned when he came back in New Testament. I think if he was out of the series for a bit it'd be for the best due to all of the developments that would happen with a chaotic situation.

He is bland in the anime because his personality, planning, fight strategy, and other stuff is all in his personal monologues. Touma from the novels and Touma from the anime are incomparable in terms of personality.

Realistically, Academy City would most likely be utterly destroyed.
An attack using 5.3% of the earth's rotational energy would have the force of 210 billion H-bombs or 3.3 quintillion tons of gunpowder. If that was detonated on the surface of the earth, it would annihilate Academy City.
Academy City would be in major trouble from Accelerator's attack.

To be even more realistic, when the rotational energy is added to the thrown concrete, it would come exceedingly close to the limit of light speed and reach a temperature of 47 trillion degrees celsius. If it struck the surface of the earth, the area within a 280 kilometer radius would immediately disappear.
Japan would be in major trouble from Accelerator's attack.

Now let's speak realistically about the earth.
By slowing down its rotation by 5 minutes, time all over the world would be thrown into chaos. Also, sea water would flow into the 280 kilometer hole and evaporate due to the 47 trillion degree temperature. This would cause history's greatest typhoon. This would mess with south-east Asia's ecosystem enough to bring ruin to the earth.
The earth would be in major trouble from Accelerator's attack.

I like Touma.
Most of /a/ hates him because of his plot armor, moralfaggotry and the shitty way he's presented in the anime.
However, without his moralfaggotry many things would've gone wrong, and the reason for his plot armor is that Aleister needs him alive, and if Aleister needs someone alive, - it's fucking immortal.
His presentation in the anime is usual JCStaff shit.
