The obvious choice seems like a red herring, or im reading too much into it.

A /a/non earlier pointed out a possble demon collar on Yui. Is this wishful thinking? or foreshadowing?

It's been the main bitch that's been with you from the very first parts of the game. You know those crystals/people you were 'saving' the entire game? They've been sacrificed/absorbed by her, right in front of your eyes, slowly becoming the strongest character in the game, both phsyical hit wise and magic wise. Your characters are customizable, so if you do it right, she literally becomes a goddess.

As she's journeyed with you, and seen all the horrible shit that goes on in the world, all the pain, misery, and suffering, she finally reveals her plans to restart the world. Of course, she offers to let you off the hook and start fresh in the new world she's going to build, or, you say fuck that shit, and you fight her in a battle of god vs. man. Or choose to see the world she's created(randomly generated every time) and adventure there instead.

I'd really expect more goddesses/people who work for Heaven to appear in the future. So far we've seen little of the world outside of Keima's scope. In Tenri's arc we were for the first time introduced to somebody from Heaven, after almost 60 chapters in the manga, then that got expanded to six sisters who sealed the Weiss and are stuck in the bodies of human girls. But Heaven surely has more than just them, there are all the goddesses who go around and return souls to the earth, and if the manga really develops in a direction with the main cast going against Vintage, then it would make sense for more heavenly beings to appear in the story.

Yes, building a larger view of the world for the audience will happen gradually with the gods being a part of that but I worry how the author will go about doing that. Adding in too many characters at once and having a large cast in general is a troublesome thought.

It's been a really successful manga for Shonen Sunday though. Maybe they'd keep pushing it to build a franchise.

Since I plan on buying all the Japanese volumes of the manga, I'll probably wind up buying the anime BDs, as well, for completeness. Regardless of whether it gets finished or not. Usually I hold out for a high quality series that's complete (Like I'll be doing with Madoka once a boxset gets released), but for TWGOK I'll make an exception since it'll look nice next to all the manga volumes.

Okay guys I just reread the whole thing to try to deal with not having a chapter this week (protip: it just makes you want the next chapter more), but I've noticed that Keima primarily makes mistakes when he tries to rush things, or when he is operating on incomplete information. Both of which he was doing in identifying the goddess candidates, my take on this is

There are less than 3 goddesses in the four remaining candidates

Now, I don't think that Keima's theory of "Elsie, who thought love was the only method was sent to where the goddesses are" is wrong, but I see Diana as evidence that Keima's school just has a high concentration of goddesses, rather than all of them. I think 3 or 4 would be enough, especially if the other goddesses were in her district. The whole thing of Diana being the only exception, but that is cause we knew each other as kids even if we haven't spoken in years, just doesn't sit right with me.

I suspect the last goddess will be in one of keima's girls that he eliminated without talking to.

It could very well be the case, that would leave way for more goddess plot even after the current arc is finished. If I remember well, Keima himself said the reason he had to cut down the search to that theory of his was just because there really wasn't any time for a more in-depth search.

I'm somewhat hoping for this too. From a storytelling perspective, that may be one of the better ways to resolve the story arc while still keeping it open for further development. I'm really starting to miss some of the lighter-hearted "breather" chapter.

Well, Kanon's demise got postponed when Vulcan came to fuck shit up, so maybe Keima will take it a little bit easier.
Though Kanon is still going to need an IV soon unless Keima is into necrophilia.

Still, I suspect that there is at least one more goddess (Mercury) in the candidates because I believe Keima will wake Kanon up before the festival. And I think from a story-telling perspective Keima still needs to do more work to wake kanon up rather than just, say, running into Sumire and Oh look! She happens to remember and have Mercury! (That said I think Mercury in candidate -> Random girl has goddess -> Oh crap where is the last goddess, could work very well)

I actually doubt that just dispelling the curse saved her for now. Remember that Diana and Vulcan did share some eye contact when Keima stated that it's no longer possible for Kanon to die and later whispered something to each other. I think that she's still bound to die at the end of week, same as before. Regardless of the curse or probably because of the aftereffects of the curse or something like that spell drains the leftover energy of the goddess and once that is depleted, both, goddess and host will die.
