http://archive.easymodo.net/a/thread/11147935#p11147987This is the first recorded instance ever talked about in regards to the 55555555 GET. In order to find this post, the maximum offset was 354. To give you an idea, here are the maximum offsets for these GETs:
11111111: 209
22222222: 222 (no, I'm not kidding, look it up yourself)
33333333: 240
44444444: 347
It is important to note that all of the above have got tens of posts with just >>######## in them, whereas a great deal of the 55555555 posts have discussion surrounding them. Never before has a GET in history been so hyped. Not /b/'s 123456789 GET, not /v/'s 100M GET -- not even /b/'s 100M milestone. No matter your opinion about GETs, whether you hate them with a passion and sage and report everything in sight or have fun alongside side them and collect the reaction images that are posted, one thing is for certain: In less than 55 hours, it will all be over.
Reread that statement again.
In less than 55 hours, it will all be over.
No matter what discussion you are having, it will not be possible less than 5,000 posts away from this GET. People from /b/, /fit/, /sp/, /vp/, /co/, /m/, and /v/, will all be gathered here for one purpose, and one purpose only: To participate in the most historic GET of 4chan's history. With /b/ or /v/'s 100M GETs, there weren't any real expectations set. Anybody could get it, people would overreact, and it would all be over. However, this is not any ordinary GET. KoG will not be getting the 55555555 GET. There will be far too many scriptbots and floodbots running at the time. The board might even be at 55556000 due to all the posts before we even see who gets it. In fact, it might be flooded off so quickly that NOBODY sees it ala 13M GET, but you have to come to terms with a very real possibility: The 55555555 GET might contain a Yami Yugi image. If this happens, /a/ won't be the same.
Are you ready for that day to arrive?
