At the schools I've attended, the better you can swing that tire, the more renowned you'd be among your peers. It was almost like being a professional entertainer, where you'd perform rides on your classmates and friends. Sure, things could go out of hand and kids could get seriously injured but that risk is what made it all the more alluring for school-kids.

Howdy /a/, my name is Rawhide Kobayashi. I'm a 27 year old Japanese Japamerican (western culture fan for you foreigners). I brand and wrangle cattle on my ranch, and spend my days perfecting my craft and enjoying superior American passtimes. (Barbeque, Rodeo, Fireworks) I train with my branding iron every day, this superior weapon can permanently leave my ranch emblem on a cattle's hide because it is white-hot, and is vastly superior to any other method of livestock marking. I earned my branding license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day. I speak English fluently, both Texas and the Oklahoma dialect, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about American history and their cowboy code, which I follow 100% When I get my American visa, I am moving to Dallas to work in an oil field to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become a cattle wrangler for the Double Cross Ranch or an oil rig operator for Exxon-Mobil! I own several cowboy hats, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to America, so I can fit in easier. I rebel against my elders and seniors and speak English as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond. Wish me luck in America!

I used to be happy. What happened, /a/? I was at the same level as them. At what exact point did I go wrong?

>>60839863 I think nostalgia might be a part of it too. Me and my grandad used to sit and watch Boomerang when it still showed all the awesome old school stuff like Hong Kong Phooey and Wacky Races

Had no liking for Scooby Doo though. Even as a little kid I think I was dimly aware those endless reruns were low-budget crap. Like when looped animation shows someone removing a unit/chunk of a larger sum, but no piece is missing? Shit like that.

My Elementary school had a playground crammed full of huge tires; there were tire swings, tire jungle gyms, and even a big-ass fucking ship made out of tires and planks with a steering wheel. It was incredible. I was really disappointed when I went by one day and saw that they had replaced the whole thing with a traditional playground made of metal and plastic.

>That feel when your backyard shared a fence with a playground (small one, but it did) >that feel when they changed it a bit over the years, but never in bad ways. >to this day still has the super long metal slide, swings (which they raised to be higher), and the most awesome wood and metal jungle gym. And the fucking wood chips. >That wonderful feel that when ever your home you still hop the fence to go play around in it at night when the kids arent out. Awesome child hood was awesome. We also had a place like discovery zone in my town too. Except it was called the children's museum. It was a big fire house taken over with really cool things. A whole room dedicated to god damn bubbles. It had a river kind of thing going through it too. They changed it now and its up by the local zoo, but man nothing cam compare to it's day in the fire house, and the awesome awesome play ground it had outside of it. Which all only came second to this mother fucker right here. Several stories, tons of swings, huge sandpit as well as the largest jungle gym/structure I've seen. My city was a very good city for playgrounds. and now I'm off to watch cartoon networks second channel that streams some of the early 2000's cartoons I watched when I was around ten.

Playgrounds used to be fun, adventurous, dangerous - and then health and safety happened. I remember the steel slides in summer - heated like a frying pan and friction which would burn the skin off as you slid down. Tarmac which would go gooey in the heat. Bark used to soften the ground and get in your eyes. Wooden climbing frames which gave you splinters. Large metal frames of almost nonsensical esher like design which took you up 20ft in the air with no safety net if you fell. Children nwaday are all little fags who have a cosied cushioned childhood.
