As a german, let me explain everything that is shit about this language to you.
- the pronounciation follows close to NO RULES
- a bunch of useless letters (i vs. y, x vs. ks, k vs. c etc.)
- grammar they don't know (more than 2 tenses (japs only have present and past), plural, articles etc.)
- conjugation - it may be more straightforward than german but still it's quite the bitch to them - even though they have a similar system
- conveying less content with more letters - they only use like 2-4 on a verb, avg. of 3 for a noun is fair to say - we use a fuckton for words like "convoluted")
the list may go on.
Also, they lack the latin roots all other european languages have - nobody over there ever heard of aqua or stuff like that to figure out further shit, there is virtually NO NATIVE RELATION between the languages. Also, the english embedded in japanese is just leanwords which altered meanings. "Consent" actually means plug in japanese.
