I prefer evolution for the wildcard factor, 700 years is a hell of a long time, and before anybody argues that it could not be, my pride would've already accepted and claim that i've lived my life in contentment by then.
The biggest turnoff with immortality for me is that you only have time, and nothing else. While I do agree that in this world, time is still the most valuable resource of all, with no pressure since you have it forever, the mere act of living, in hindsight, would become flavorless, even with a sexy loli/
