The school lobby is also connected to the library but is separated by glass panels that rotate but are usually locked in position making you walk all the way around

When I graduated i found out that the government had paid any school that accepted at least 20 retard students, also the school had charged the parents 1.5 times to usual amount so thats why the kids never got kicked out

My school was fairly small and pitifully funded. The special ed. class was secluded from the rest of the school and included handicapped students along with the actually mentally disabled. My ex-gf was in the special ed class for a while because she had dyslexia and failed math class too many times. All the kids from there ware generally well behaved and friendly whenever I saw them.

However, the biggest problem my school faced was kids with serious anger management issues. In elementary school students were hauled off to "juvie" at a rate of about one per month. Kids were always bringing weapons to school and there was even the occasional bomb threat. I was personally there to witness one incident.

There was one kid in my grade, built like a tank, even for a fifth grader. Thankfully I only had gym with him because he was hard to get along with and would fly off the handle at the drop of a hat. I don't know how it started, but suddenly everyone ran to one side of the gym, leaving only that kid in a state of utter rage. There was a tense 15-minute standoff between him and the P.E. teacher that involved the kid stomping around and making threats if I remember right. In the end the Principal came to back up the P.E. teacher and they tackled him, pinning him to the ground until the police arrived. That kid was never seen again.

It's just too scary and sad. I'm not bawling my eyes, but God damn he went from being proactive and happy-go-lucky bloke to a decrepit old man by Alzheimer's within 6 months. I forgot to mention his wife died soon after he was diagnosed, and according to my teacher he doesn't remember her.

Honestly, I've known people without Downs who weren't technically retards that were fucking morons compared to that guy. He at least had his shit together.

This town was in one of the areas of missouri that got hit pretty hard by the nuke testing of the 60s fallout, so there were a LOT of tards. They had a special school for them that got most of them able to live on their own except the really extreme cases. Instead of teenagers working fast food joints it was mostly tards.
