>>First love, go camping with her family, share a tent
>>Both virginal and never had these kinds of feelings before, awkward/no idea what to do
>>Share a blanket, but on own pillows with distance inbetween
>>Can't sleep, too tense, just watching night sky through mesh tent ceiling
>>She's on her side facing me, bathed in moonlight
>>Give her a peck on the forehead, pull back to my spot and close my eyes, freaking out at what I did
>>Turns out she wasn't asleep, scoots over and gives me a gentle kiss, my first, on the lips
>>She cuddles into my side as I turn on my back, I feel her breath on my neck every time she exhales - the sensation is burned into my memory
Not exactly original, I know. We were together 4-5 years (depending on how you want to add up the time), had some rough patches, and she ditched me out of the blue a couple of months ago. I'm doing fine usually, but those moments alone with the memories are killer - where you know the answers but still wonder about what happened and why anyway.
