Does life have any meaning whatsoever? Or is it just one big coincidental mistake?

Is any event in my life significant, or just romantic sentimental attachments my brain attaches on to things based on external influences such as media and entertainment?

Is love really a force that comes from within us or just some convenient fabrication that helps us feel secure?

I just dont know anymore.

Love is a force that comes within you, in the form of a chemical reaction in your brain. It is not a fabrication any more than hunger is a fabrication.

Now I’ve come to realise me thinking I love my family is not a force from within, it’s something I’ve cooked up in my mind, it’s something we’ve all cooked up. It has no legitimacy. Well, you're right that love is not some external force or any sort of force outside of your brain. But there's nothing wrong with that. Love isn't trivialized in any way just because it originates in your brain and not from some unknown entity.

As for family, obviously not 'love' on a reproductive level. Could claim it's innate, see Bowlby and his fucking ducks, and once you no longer need that attachment, who's to say you won't go dominant and primal and kill them? You don't need them any more, only on a social support level now and that's not exactly a necessity.

Life has only been over-complicated because we rule the Earth, we haven't had much to do other than ponder what shouldn't have been pondered.

It comes from us.

It comes from our ability to recognize other conscious beings as sharing the capacity to choose value and meaning.
It also frees us in a sense to create meaning and purpose.
