So, I get a surprise from my mom when she tells me, hey we're getting a tortoise from my aunt! Though, just temporarily until we find her a new home. Mom wants me to ID her, my aunt says it's an African Tortise, 2 1/2 years old, and weighs 70 pounds. Suppose to get up to 250 pounds. Google brought up the Sulcata tortise. But is there any other species you can think of? Neither I nor her have seen it so I don't have any pictures of her.

What would be the best recommended stable food and suppliments until we get her sent to a new home?

What rescue groups would you recommend in the Southern California area to call to send her too?
