Yeah, they aren't allowed to be out at the same time at first. We picked this little guy (his (or her, we need to get his DNA tested for gender) name is Chico) up last night at the rescue. We brought him home and showed him (in his cage) to the cockatiels- one of them seemed extremely suspicious at this brightly colored ball of feathers and the other one looked like he didn't give a shit. Chico on the other hand was just trying to sleep, but the lady at the rescue said he would follow her other birds around and try to preen them, so it seems like he probably just wants to be friends with everyone. We'll see what happens, at any rate- any time they're anywhere close to each other they will be very closely supervised.
The place he was rescued from was keeping him in a fishtank and he was never handled, so he's more than a little nervous around hands, but the lady at the rescue said he's been recovering pretty well in the months since then and has never bitten her or anyone else with more pressure than a little "cut that out" nip.
Now all I've got to do is convert him from that unhealthy seed diet.
