Ok, WTF /an/.

My flatmate comes home the other day with a pet corn snake. No warning or anything, and the landlord specifically said no pets.

To make it worse, I found out today he's been keeping dead mice in the freezer without telling us.

Am I right to be pissed off? How can I stop worrying and learn to love the snake?

How is the landlord ever going to know you have a snake? It's not like a cat or dog that will make noise or sit in the window for all to see. I've kept rats in various apartments for years and no one ever knew about them.

Your roommate shouldn't have done it without consulting other roommates, but he could have done much worse. Give him a good talking to, move on, chill out and enjoy your new snake.

Indeed, your roommate was a douchebag to do this without consulting any of the other roommates, especially considering he had been planning it since he had mice in the freezer. The mice in the freezer isn't really a big deal other than it being kind of gross to think of, since they were probably in a plastic bag or something instead of just out in the open.

But snakes are a cool and relatively low maintenance pet, you'll grow to like it. The landlord shouldn't find out unless they for some reason come into your flat and see the cage.
