Other guy's insurance company told me where to take it, told them to fuck off, sent my car to the most expensive body shop in the state. After that when they got someone out to look at it they gave me an estimate and it was for using third-party parts rather than OEM. Once again, told them kindly to fuck off and I want nothing but OEM.

As long as you aren't some pathetic faggot that takes it up the ass, the insurance companies have to bend over for you.

If an OE hood from Ford costs $500 and an aftermarket costs $200, most companies will make the body shop use aftermarket. State Farm requires the shop to use OE. Cheaper insurance companies will cheap out on blend panels, too.

True, it does depend on the state. If you aren't careful, some companies will try to fuck with you. Where I live, ins. co. have to use OE if car is less than five years old. But ins. co's will try to use loopholes to get around it if you aren't careful. Last week, an insurance company would only approve aftermarket for a 2011 Lexus.

Used to work at a high end Italian place when I was 17/18. They had no sense of cleanliness, everything was dirty and if things were dropped they were still used. One time a red velvet cupcake was dropped and went across the bar mats near the register in the back and was put back on a plate right in front of me. They also payed in cash and the waitresses shared their tips with me. I besides the cooks and waitresses I did everything, cleaned all dishes by hand then put them in a washer, prepped all food (calamari cutting, butterfly chicken, etc.) and closed up at the end of the night but it payed cash so it was pretty good.

The stores I've worked in very white regions are fucking spotless. The stores in the hood are usually dirty with slacking off employees. I've only ever fired niggers and spics on the spot for using food off the floor.

This tends to hold true for other fast food places based on my discussions with other quality inspectors.

What you're referring to is called "flat rate". Most shops use labor guides (Alldata, Motor, Mitchell, etc) and base what they charge upon that. Let's face it, you think a service writer can remember how long a rear wheel bearing for a 1993 Subaru takes to replace? The shop's hourly rate is multiplied by the labor guide's flat rate hours for that job, the price of parts is added in and that's what you're charged.

Most techs are paid that way, too. So, if the job's flat rate hours are 1 hour... whether it takes him 1 minutes or 3 hours, he gets paid 1 hour. It's a very fair system for the shop, the tech, and the customer.

That said, I do drivability, fuel & emissions, engine controls, etc... I've seen most things that will turn your check engine light on a dozen times over each... The shop charges an hour for diagnosis, and I verify my suspicion of what's wrong and am usually done in 10 minutes and move on to the next car. The shop and I make a lot of money, the customer gets his car back faster with no guessing, win/win/win.

That whole "nitrogen tire inflation" thing? It's mostly a scam. If somehow the perfect tire and rim were invented that NEVER lost any pressure, nitrogen would be fine. But rims are porous, valve stems and the tire bead seaps, you run over a nail... and it gets out. The MOMENT you put in air at a gas station or something, that nitrogen you paid extra for? Useless.

Fill your tires with air, check the pressures everytime you gas up, you'll befine.

I work at mcdonalds, a new one that just opened up not even a month ago. Our menus are plasma screens, we have a big ass plasma screen tv in the lobby, and everything's clean in the back. No one uses dirty food, any thing that falls on the floor (even bags) are thrown away, if someone messes up an order they completely remake it (they don't just scrape stuff off and serve it back), all our drinks are a dollar, and most of the time we don't charge for extra sauce or anything in general that you ask for at the window. Must suck going to mcdonald's in the ghettos.

How long ago was this? State Farm was sued a few years ago over aftermarket parts, that's why they use OE now. Also, not all parts have to be new OE, just the sheet metal(fenders, doors, hoods, etc.) Depending on the car, sometimes parts won't even be available. And if the cost is too high(usually over 70% of vehicle value), the car will just be totaled. And used parts are better than aftermarket. State Farm isn't perfect, but they are by far the best out there.

Work in convenience store. Found a cannabis farm under a big stone panel thing in our store room floor about 7 months ago. About a 2 ft deep 6ft long passage revealed under the store room floor housing about 30 plants. I know fuck all about ganja farming but could tell immediately it was legit because of the lighting and air conditioning. Put the panel back and the wooden box. Went and told my boss I'd found it and that I would rat him out if he didnt start paying me triple time and giving me 40 hours a week. For the last 7 months my wage has been made cash in hand at £18.90 an hour for extremely easy and casual work in a fairly quiet store. I'm making £750 a week for this shit and intend to continue doing so for the time being until I decide to leave. When I do so I intend on ratting the cunt out anyway. Feels good as fuck Im the boss of my boss.
