After checking out the facts on this fella's suicide, and reading some of the tweets in response, I decided it was necessary to provide a little bit of information and guidance to all the "homies" out there.
We'll start with Mr. E himself. He mentions in a tweet shortly before his suicide that "If there's a God then He's calling me back home." Well, there is a God, but it was not him calling you. Let's look at why.
What do the Jews say? From
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_views_on_suicide:
"Jewish views on suicide state that suicide is forbidden by Jewish law. Judaism has traditionally viewed suicide as a serious sin. It is not seen as an acceptable alternative even if one is being forced to commit certain cardinal sins for which one must give up one's life rather than sin."
How about Christians?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_views_on_suicide has that...Christians seemed to have been confused on the issue at the beginning, but if you read carefully, you'll see they reached the same conclusion. "According to the theology of the Roman Catholic Church, death by suicide is considered a grave or serious sin."
How about Muslims? I'm one. What do we think? Well...from
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_views_on_suicide#Islam"Islam, like other Abrahamic religions, views suicide as one of the greatest sins and utterly detrimental to one's spiritual journey. A verse in the Quran instructs; "And do not kill yourselves, surely God is most Merciful to you."
— Qur'an, Sura 4(An-Nisa), ayat 29 [12]"
So the world's 3 major religions all view suicide as sin. And not just any sin, but one of the absolute gravest ones. Murder is actually a better sin to commit, because there are ways of repentance for that. Not for suicide.
So to all the thugs out there replying on Twitter and Facebook, talking about how your "angel is up in heaven", or "my homie is looking down on us from above"...or "RIP my homie, you're with God now"...think again.
