ATH-M50's were fucking awful in my (Ill admit, unpopular) opinion. I dont care how big its army of fans is, those things were a god-tier dissapointment.
And yes, Im the guy from the other thread. Heres what Im happily using, and in over a year of constant use, abuse, and vicious sonic experimentation, Ive never been let down by these things. To the point where Id be comfortable with releasing a song mixed only on these if I had to.
>>466812436>Any pointers?Yeah, dont do that. Or get beats. Yes, theyre hated, overpriced and overhyped, but to be completely honest, I like them (as casual listening headphones only, they DO NOT belong in a professional/studio setting at all, they sound good, thats what theyre designed to do, not sound accurate but sound good)
Either way, heres the point. If you want the most effective and most variable options from your headphones, get some very flat-sounding headphones and a good EQ. A truly neutral headphone and a powerful EQ (not your itunes EQ bullshit, an actual analog equalizer) together can REALLY bring out your headphone's throbbing bass or searing highs if you just wanna listen to some music for fun.
My EQ/mixer broke (the entire silicon circuit board inside snapped in half somehow), and Ive been missing it ever since, Im gonna get a new EQ soon just for casual listening because its really that big of an improvement. Unfortunately I cant because Im spending all my excess money on drugs... Isnt my life so unfair?
>>466812850I know youre not gonna even read this post, but if you actually do care, headphones do have their place. If you make music, for example, you would need your monitors to be pretty damn loud to keep a good reference on each sound, and if you live in an apartment, dorm, or even a dense neighborhood, everybody will be able to hear you producing (and trust me, nobody wants to listen to a song being made, it gets FUCKING ANNOYING, especially at night)
And what if I am too pussy to watch porn through speakers?
