So apparently these hippies have 22,000+ eBooks to give away. Are any of these good? Or are they mostly public domain crap? Anyone trolled through their website and found something worth reading?

They have a torrent of a bunch of Science Fiction books over at gutenberg.org but I haven't found anything cool yet. I'm hoping to snag a book that talks about FLYING CARS IN THE YEAR 2000 WHEN COMPUTERS ARE SMALL ENOUGH TO FIT IN JUST ONE ROOM!

It's not "public domain crap", it's just s bunch of books written before 1923 or that the copyright's lapsed on. The sci-fi is before the age of computers, really. It's mostly the source material for steampunk on there (Verne, Wells, etc.).

Basically stuff like this, Shakespeare etc, if you aren't interested in historical texts then you'll find the site boring and mostly useless. Take a look at their top 100 list for some examples of the sort of thing you can find there, most of it is shitty.

Best bet is probably to use some random torrent site and search for ebooks on it. Can find a giant .rar of thousands of authors with some you might have heard of or want to read.
